Having done his Bachelor’s in Animal Science, Andy is a Master's student in Molecular Genetics at the Marine Sciences Department,
University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus (UPRM). His research is focused on the systematics of marine invertebrates using modern computer vision methods, such as machine learning and convolutional neural networks for object detection and classification. He has also provided General Biology and Biological Sciences laboratories at the UPRM, as well as conferences on professional development and education for teachers as a workshop facilitator for Braxton Puerto Rico.
