Position

I was born Kerala and brought-up in Tamil Nadu, India. I did my Bachelors and Masters from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. I got my doctorate in Botany from the Rajiv Gandhi University, India, in March 2011. The subject of my dissertation is ecological studies on Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms. and its utilization for soil nutrient management and crop production in lowland rainfed agroecosystems systems in the foothills of eastern Himalaya. Before joining as an associate professor at Arunachal University of Studies, I was a postdoctoral research fellow (2015-2019) at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), where I investigated environmental controls on soil carbon storage in Yunnan Province, Southwestern China. During research stay at XTBG, I have written research proposals to the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, both of which were successful in securing funds totaling $62,000 USD. So far, I have published 27 (23 peer-reviewed) journal articles and 12 book chapters.
