Daniel Romero-Alvarez is a Medical Doctor from Universidad Central del Ecuador and a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Kansas, United States. Daniel studies infectious disease ecology across scales. He has worked from molecular approaches to diagnose pathogens in wildlife including leprosy in armadillos and trematodes in freshwater fish, to the geographic distribution of anthrax, melioidosis, Oropouche virus, among others, in different continents. Currently, Daniel is working as an associate professor at the Universidad Internacional SEK (UISEK) at the Faculty of Health Sciences in Quito, Ecuador.
