Dr. Paramita Basu is an Associate Professor of Pre-Clinical Sciences and Director of Infectious Diseases at New York College of Podiatric Medicine (Touro University), with additional appointments at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and American Military University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from Presidency College, University of Calcutta, an M.Tech in Biotechnology from Jadavpur University, India and a PhD in Biological Sciences from St. John’s University, New York, USA. Her professional background includes pharmaceutical industry experience in assay design and development, complementing her academic focus on clinical microbiology, infectious disease, and community medicine. With over 16 years of teaching experience, Dr. Basu research specializes in antimicrobial resistance, diabetic foot infections, and AI integration in medical education. She has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Her work spans clinical research, educational innovation, and public health.
