Becky is a professor in the Department of Biology and in the Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science M.S. program at University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Her research focuses on community and ecosystem ecology of tropical forests. She works on nutrient cycling, invasion, long-term forest dynamics, climate change, functional ecology, and restoration. She also takes mentoring seriously and works to teach people about the ethics, DEI, and culture of conducting research.
