Jithin is a trained ecologist from the Wildlife Institute of India, interested in ecology, education, media and gender. Currently works at the Nature Conservation Foundation-India, Bangalore. He has won several accolades for his contributions to ecology, and education. He founded Kerala’s biggest students’ ecological festival, ‘Myristica’, that experimented with a trans-disciplinary approach to formal environmental education. He was a Project Oriented Biology Education Fellow of the Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore; and Principal Investigator of the Royal Society of Chemistry-funded project on inclusion of women in Kerala’s Chemistry field. He believes that a multidisciplinary approach in research and education can lead to effective conservation culture.
