Zingfa is a conservation biologist and educator with the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS). His work focuses on biodiversity conservation and the ecological impacts of human-modified landscapes, particularly in tropical and savanna ecosystems. Through his research and teaching, he is interested in understanding how environmental change influences ecological communities and how scientific knowledge can inform conservation practice.
At OTS, Zingfa contributes to the development and delivery of field-based experiential learning programs for university students in OTS field stations in South Africa and Costa Rica, with a strong emphasis on connecting research with hands-on ecological training. As part of the OCELOT initiative, Zing is developing an interactive case study that integrates real ecological datasets, storytelling, and digital tools to support innovative approaches to teaching ecology and conservation.
